Why I Made Real Hydrate...
I've spent nearly 15 years in combat sports and over 8 years coaching, and I've got a Sports Medicine degree from King's College London. I've watched fighters gas out in round three because they were dehydrated before they walked in. I've watched kids at my classes drink nothing but squash and wonder why they feel sick after sparring.
Most hydration products are sugar with a marketing budget. I wanted one I'd actually give to the people I coach — real electrolytes, a proper carbohydrate blend, nothing in there to make the label look busy.
That's REAL Hydrate. If it wasn't good enough for my own athletes, it wouldn't be on this site.

Frequently asked questions
Why not just drink water?
Water replaces fluid. It doesn't replace what you sweat out with it. Every session you lose sodium, potassium and chloride — and drinking plain water alone dilutes what's left.
REAL Hydrate puts those electrolytes back. If you're doing a light session, water's fine. If you're leaving the gym drained, this is what it's for.
Isn't this just sugar in a tub?
No. Each 12g serving has 0.5g of sugar and 37 calories. Most high-street sports drinks carry far more sugar per serving than that. The carbohydrate here is maltodextrin — it's there as training fuel, not to sweeten it.
Can I take it alongside creatine?
Yes. They do completely different jobs — creatine is about output and recovery over time, hydration is about what you're losing in the session itself. Plenty of people take both. There's a Hydrate + Creatine bundle if you want them together.
I'm cutting weight. Can I still use it?
Electrolytes matter more during a cut, not less — that's usually when people run into cramping and flatness. But weight-making is individual and it's not something to guess at. Speak to your coach or a professional who knows your situation.
Is it tested for banned substances?
REAL Hydrate is manufactured in the UK to GMP and ISO standards. It is not currently certified under a banned-substance testing programme such as Informed Sport. If you compete under WADA-code testing, that's something you need to know before you take anything — including this. I'd rather be straight with you about it than have you find out later.
